Restorative Dentistry

Reviving Your Smile In Southeast, FL

At Marc A. Minch, DMD, we are passionate about helping our patients fall in love with their smile again. Our skilled and knowledgeable team is highly experienced in replacing missing or damaged teeth—the focus behind restorative dentistry. Our goal with restorative dentistry is to improve your oral health, the function of your teeth and deliver a newfound confidence that comes with your new smile. We try our best to preserve the health of your natural teeth, but if needed, we offer dental implants that perform just like your other teeth. We offer a range of restorative dentistry services including implants, porcelain bridges, full or partial dentures, root canals and bone grafting.

Implants

Dental implants are surgically placed in your mouth to restore your ability to chew and speak properly. This modern, highly effective procedure is used to replace a lost tooth from damage, disease or injury. An implant consists of three main parts: the artificial tooth or cap, the abutment and the implant body, which looks like a screw. All together, it works to replace missing teeth and enhance your quality of life. There are many benefits to receiving dental implants, including restoring your ability to talk and chew, improving your appearance, keeping the jawbone from shrinking and protecting the surrounding teeth, bone and gums. While the process for a dental implant is lengthy, we believe the end result is worth it. The process may take several months from beginning to end with most of the time devoted to the healing and development of the new bone in your jaw.

Porcelain
Bridges

Dental porcelain bridges are able to replace a single missing tooth or a row of missing teeth. Our team will create the bridges to match your natural teeth before placing them in their designated spots in your mouth. At Marc A. Minch, DMD, we ensure these are custom-made to fit your mouth. There are four types of dental bridges, and depending on your case, Dr. Minch or Dr. Newton will go over the options and discuss which will be the best fit for you. They include: traditional bridge, cantilever bridge, Maryland bridge and implant-supported bridge. Porcelain bridges help maintain your face shape after tooth loss, prevent remaining teeth from moving and restore your ability to speak and chew. These appliances are strong and durable, able to withstand the test of time and last for many years if you take good care of them.

Full or Partial Dentures

These oral appliances are removable and are crafted to replace missing teeth in your upper jaw, lower jaw or both. At Marc A. Minch, DMD, we proudly offer both full or partial dentures depending on your oral needs. Full, or complete, dentures are designed to replace a whole row of missing teeth. They sit on top of your gums and are supported by the roof of your mouth and lower jawbone ridge. They are made of artificial teeth and a gum-colored base. If you are missing several teeth but still have a few intact, then partial dentures may be a good choice for you. They are similar in that they still rely on your gums and underlying bone for support but differ in that they have special clasps that hook around your natural teeth to stay in place. Dentures typically last between five to 10 years, depending on how well you care for them and any changes in your mouth over time. Additionally, we offer denture-supported implants, which are surgically implanted into the jawbone for ultimate stability.

Root Canals

Root canals are an extremely common restorative dentistry procedure, with dentists performing 15 million of them in the United States a year. Root canals are designed to remove the infected pulp, clean and disinfect the tooth, and then seal it to prevent further issues. This treatment not only alleviates pain, but also helps preserve the natural tooth, preventing the need for extraction and maintaining the integrity of your smile. You may need a root canal if you have significant tooth pain that will not go away, serious pressure in your tooth when you touch or eat something, swollen gums or loose teeth. But, if you are able to take a proactive approach by brushing your teeth twice a day, flossing daily and having consistent dental checkups–you may be able to avoid ever needing a root canal!

Bone Grafting

At Marc A. Minch, DMD, we offer restorative dentistry procedures such as bone grafting to restore and enhance the bone structure in areas where it has been lost or weakened, partially in preparation for dental implants. Dr. Minch and Dr. Newton use innovative techniques and materials to ensure the bone graft integrates seamlessly with your natural bone, providing a strong foundation for future dental work. This procedure is essential for patients who have experienced bone loss due to tooth extractions, gum disease or trauma. We may also recommend bone grafting as a way to prepare for dental implants, repair bone defects or support reconstructive surgery. By rebuilding the bone, patients achieve better oral health.
