Have you always wanted brighter, more uniform looking teeth? Well, porcelain veneers may be a great choice for you! These cosmetic appliances are a popular option among our patients who are looking to attain that dream smile with zero imperfections. Veneers are coverings that Dr. Marc A. Minch or Dr. Emily Newton place on the front of your teeth to conceal a range of aesthetic issues. The process of receiving your veneers is simple and painless, and the end result is flawless looking teeth. Get ready to wow your friends and family with your new smile!

What Are Porcelain Veneers?

Veneers are shells that our dentists have custom made to fit precisely over the front surface of your teeth. The goal is to camouflage a wide range of imperfections, such as cracks, chips, gaps, discolored teeth or to create a more uniform looking smile. Using high-quality dental materials and porcelain components, each individual shell is personally crafted to deliver your ideal smile goals.

Reasons Why You May Consider Porcelain Veneers

It’s no secret that a brighter, straighter smile can boost a person’s self-esteem and confidence. Not to mention, when other people see you smile you may appear more friendly and personable. Here are some reasons why you may want to consider porcelain veneers:

  • Chipped teeth
  • Cracked teeth
  • Stained teeth
  • Misshapen teeth
  • Gapped teeth
  • Enlarging your teeth

Dr. Minch or Dr. Newton will first determine if you are a good candidate for porcelain veneers. If you have cavities, gum disease or suffer from poor oral health our team may not recommend them at this time. However, we are happy to help address these important issues first before taking the next step toward enhancing your smile.

How Does The Application Process Work?

After your initial consultation, where we will discuss your dental goals and determine if you are a good candidate for porcelain veneers, we will take impressions of your teeth. These are used to make your custom veneers. They are sent off to a lab, and it can take several weeks before they come into our office. Then, we will prep the teeth by removing part of the enamel. You will go home and return to our office for a second appointment when your veneers arrive, likely in a few weeks.

During your second appointment, our team will first check the shape, color and fit of your veneers. If everything looks good to both you and your dentist, then we will permanently bond them to your teeth using dental cement. At the end, Dr. Minch or Dr. Newton will check your bite to make sure they are set properly.

Benefits of Porcelain Veneers

Considering veneers? This treatment is a comfortable, easy and non-surgical way to enhance your smile. Our porcelain veneers offer a range of benefits including:

There is no recovery period, so you can get back to your daily routine right after your appointment.

Our team strives to make you as comfortable as possible. Thanks to our advanced technology, receiving your porcelain veneers is painless!

If you take proper care of your veneers, they can last for an average of 10-20 years.

The high-grade material is likely to avoid staining from dark colored beverages like coffee and wine compared to your natural teeth.

Caring For Your Porcelain Veneers

If you want to make sure your new porcelain veneers last, all you have to do is take great care of them! You will want to keep up with good oral habits like brushing twice a day for two minutes, flossing and rinsing. We recommend using a non-abrasive fluoride toothpaste and avoid using teeth whitening products—not only do you not need them now with your new bright teeth, but they also can scratch your veneers. At Marc A. Minch, DMD, we also recommend you avoid biting into any hard or crunchy foods like apples, carrots or corn on the cob. Instead, cut them up and chew using your back molars.
